MAGAZINES:

Adbusters Magazine:  Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Adbusters is a not-for-profit, reader-supported, 85,000-circulation magazine concerned about the erosion of our physical and cultural environments by commercial forces.  Adbusters offers incisive philosophical articles as well as activist commentary from around the world addressing issues ranging from genetically modified foods to media concentration. Canadian Dimensions:  Canadian Dimension is a magazine which shows there is an alternative to the corporate agenda and the dictates of the global market; that the dream of a better society is still alive. Peace Magazine: We discuss disarmament; conflict resolution; nonviolent sanctions; peace institutions (e.g. the United Nations and the World Court); conflicts and crises around the world; profiles of activists and researchers; and controversies about development, population, and environmental protection. THIS Magazine:  This Magazine is one of Canada's longest-publishing alternative journals. Founded by a gang of school activists in 1966, and originally called This Magazine is About Schools, the modern-day This focuses on Canadian politics, literature and culture but, in keeping with its radical roots, never pulls punches. ACADEMIC JOURNALS:

Monthly Review: Monthly Review speaks to workers and labor organizers no less than to academics, and against class exploitation, no less than against racial and sexual oppression. It has never been more indispensable as a guide to current realities, their historical roots and the prospects for change. Race and Class A journal for black and Third World liberation.  For more than two decades, it has established a reputation for the breadth of its analysis, its global outlook and its multi-disciplinary approach.
